European Venture Philanthropy Association: Social Entrepreneurship and Venture Philanthropy in Germany, May 12, 2005, Munich, Germany; Earth3000 President Maritta Koch-Weser participated in the first EVPA networking conference in Germany hosted by the Eberhard von Kuenheim Foundation.

UNESCO – Towards an African World Heritage Fund, March 15-18, 2005, Cape Town & Johannesburg, South Africa; At the invitation of UNESCO’s World Heritage Directorate, Maritta Koch-Weser, President of Earth3000 and Member of the German UNESCO Commision, moderated a Plenary on Developing a Master Plan for long-term partnerships in African World Heritage Conservation - a process which should lead to an urgently needed investment program for World Heritage Sites in Africa.

Leipzig Energy Conference: 3rd International Congress “Restructuring the Energy Sector in Transition Countries”, March 8 - 9, 2005, Leipzig, Germany; Earth3000 President Maritta Koch-Weser moderated Panel Discussions on Emission Reduction, Emission and Carbon Trading and on Investment Opportunities in Sustainable Energy Projects in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, as well as the concluding Press Conference with international and German leaders in the Climate Change debate.
